Night
Quatrains
We enter
one another’s dreams like mist
An insubstantial lost protagonist
An insubstantial lost protagonist
Trailing
stardust, touching ancient lips
Returning
life to those once kissed.
Infusing
sleep’s nostalgic picture show
With
images of lovers long ago
We wake
to feel a sense of loss
Like a
dying sparkler’s after-glow.

Ah, I really like this one, a dream and its afterglow - painted with mist, stardust, picture shows, sparklers - and so subtle is the rubaiyat here that it flows with the gentleness of the dream.
ReplyDeleteThanks Samual. Your comments are much appreciated.
