Please Put Down the Book

                                                             Please put down the book
                                                             you’re reading now,
                                                             and gently close its pages.
                                                             So no harm shall come
                                                             to damage its cold thought.

Look up.  Please, look up and see,
what little there is left of me
                                                             to resurrect the days
                                                             where you felt loved.

  1. You've packed a lot of meaning into a short poem. Very cleverly written.

I empathize with this. Excellent flow and feel in a small amount of words. Great poem! :D

  8. Sad, but beautifully written.
    Thanks for sharing, James.

P.S. I love the show "One Foot In The Grave". Living here in the States, I only get to see it once in a while, as I'm usually working when it's aired.
